A question for all you techie types out there. If I have AIS data coming into a C-series plotter via the NMEA 0183 port will that data be available to another C-series plotter via Seatalk Network? I have a C70 and have a opportunity to get another C80 at a good price but not sure if C-series will actually distrbute AIS string to Seatalk or not. Raymarine manual not very helpful - no doubt in in order to encourage you buy a Raymarine AIS unit with Seatalk output. I have searched forums on this topic but not come across this specific query. Thanks.

Thanks for the info - never simple is it. What I had in mind was to send AIS to both plotters and Navtex to the second one at the chart table. I presume that the Raymarine AIS units must work on Seatalk so the network is fast enough to carry the AIS data - that's one option? Even if I used a multiplexer to feed Navtex and AIS to both C-series plotters at 38400 would they recognise the Navtex data when the NMEA port setting says AIS 38400. Knowing Raymarine probably not. More research required I think.
