I rather like the idea of getting AIS Information on my chart Plotter (Garmin 55DV) and on my Tablet running Navionics and cant afford to pay too much

I have found this for about £85 I kind of think that this will do the trick.

Does anyone have experience of this and how it is set up. I am a DIYer where this sort of thing is concerned but enjoy having a play

For £85 that would be worth buying just as a WiFi router but with AIS it is a bonus. Problem you may have is getting your tablet version of Navionics to recognise the WiFi data. I used a different, but also non-Navionics-Approved WiFi router (vyacht) and it took a while for the manufacturer to work out what to do to make it work and needed a software upgrade. That was just for depth data to feed Sonar Chart Live. You may not be able to get AIS data onto the Navionics chart on a tablet, I may be wrong but I have never seen it done. The plotter should take it if you have a spare NMEA0183 port that can operate high speed, or NMEA2000.
