So I would think the process will be:
Signal received
1) Is the signals position equal to or less than 15Nm of our current position? - Yes, continue; No - stop processing
2) Show the target on the screen
Alarms
3) Is the CPA less than or equal to 2Nm ? Yes, continue; no - stop processing
4) Is there a tcpa set? Yes - continue, No - Trigger the alarm
5) Will the CPA occur within the next 20minutes? Yes - Trigger the Alarm; No - then stop

Can't be quite like that, or at least shouldn't be. The ship could alter course at any time, making the CPA critical. Can't stop processing, processing continues, but no alarm unless CPA comes within limit.
