Aircon water pump overheating

Got a new Dometic air cooled pump installed.
Runs only for 5 mins, gets super hot and overheat switch kicks in. When it runs, water flows as it should. No mechanical restriction. Just overheats super fast.
Any ideas?

220v and the boiler plate on the pump says 220V . Amp draw agrees with the specs. Suspected a 120v Version as well.

What is model number check specs for model although re-reading you reply it seems that you have already done that.

Does sound like a voltage issue.

Can you provide a photo of the terminals ?

Often these motors are dual voltage with two fields to drive the motor - connect these in parallel for the lower voltage and series for the higher. Check the back of the terminal box lid as they often provide a diagram showing the available connections.

I have just visited the Dometic Singapore website (I believe the OP is in Singapore) and downloaded the Installation Manual for the PMA1000C (the only 230v one shown) in the manual Para 4.3 Making the Electrical Connections it states "Most pumps are dual-voltage and will need to be wired to the specific voltage for your application".

I think superheat6k could well have identified the issue.

Piss poor manual that doesn't properly explain how to connect the bloody thing up !

It does mention to refer to the wiring diagram on the pump.

It would appear from my research that it is actually a March Motor re-branded as a Dometic. Having said that I have searched March's web pages and still no wiring diagram. Probably best to take it back to / contact the supplier, show them / explain the issue and get them to configure it for 220v.

If you can show me the terminals I can probably work it out for you, but might need you to measure some field resistances.

It has just 3 wires: Ground, neutral and hot. Boiler plate says 230V nothing else to configure or wire differently.

Have you opened the terminal box ?

This could be a simple incorrect connection at the factory. A photo could easily allow me to resolve that for you.

Did you end up finding the issue? I suffer from the same problem on the same pump. I bought it new last year and it seems to keep overheating.
