Thanks for all those valuable replies! Decided that I go for a Webasto Airtop 2000 SD. Found a dealer in Germany selling the complete boats kit for £ 680 incl. package and VAT (normal british Retail price: £998+VAT).

Best source for german dealers is the german Webasto web site: www.webasto.de
you need to know a bit of german though as well as the german post codes to get their dealer search going (Haendler suche).
Some I found in and near Berlin:
Putzer 0049-30-788014
Kleinschmidt 0049-30-3973400

Good time to brush up your german!

I am in the process of putting all the extra bits together (eg length of air tubing etc.). Just came back from my boat meassuring it all out. The Webasto Marine kit does not come with air tubing in germany nor in England. So you want to know how much you have to order of that (£9/m in Germany £29/m ex Vat in England!). Webasto Germany (0049-89-857940 ask for technical support) has kindly faxed me a detailed parts list with their retail prices, which shows drawings and details of all parts they sell of certain heating systems (Air Top 2000 SD in my case). Based on that list I was able to look for the best place of the heating system in the boat and calculate any extra piping etc. which would be better to order at the same time. I have been in contact with two companies so far trading in Webasto systems (Webasto it-self will only sell to traders), Kleinschmidt and another company in Eberswalde (0049-3337-41177 Hr. Puschel). Their quotes are around of what I have calculated from the Webasto retail price list.
On Monday with the detailed list what I need for my boat I will haggle a bit with them (allways worth doing!). I have got family in Berlin, so I have somebody to pay and pick the stuff up for me. Unfortunatley most of the german dealers are not offering payments by credit card, so you need to find other means of paying for it (eg money order etc.). Most of them will package send it to you in the UK.

Postage £12-15 to the UK (3 working days). The dealer will normally receive their orders from Webasto within 3 working days.
There are lots of dealers, selling Webasto heating systems, on their web site www.webasto.de
You just have to find one who is not too complicated about payment and posting.
Good Luck!

How to get Telephone numbers of dealers from the german Webasto web site:
First you need a city and the relevant post code. best to search the post code search engine of "Deutsche Post": www.deutschepost.de/postdirekt/index.html?inhalt=/postdirekt/produkte/plzsuche.html
Then with those details you go into webasto.de, klick on "Standheizungen" and klick on "Boote" on the drop down list, klick on the next site the system you require "Wasserheizung" (water heating) or "Luftheizung" (air heating), choose your system for details or go to "Haendlersuche" and klick "zur Suche" to get into their dealer search menue, klick drop down list "typ" and choose "boot"; now put in: city, postcode and a fantasy street eg "Poststr." then go, take your choice of the list appearing.
