Air Heating Systems

Have got a 25 foot GRP boat and thinking about installing an air heating system. Can't quiet make up my mind which Webasto airtop 2000 or Eberspaecher D2? Is there any-body outhere with some experience on those models? Are there cheaper alternative companies? Shall I go for a basic kit and save some money by buying inlet/outlets and tubing my-self? Would it be worth buying abroad eg Germany (I live in the south of England)? Does any-body know a good dealer near Bristol?

Just fitted a Mukuni system to my 34ft Fly bridge and with 4 outlets it copes well with the last nip of cold nights (1 in each cabin,1 in saloon and one out to cockpit). Uses same system as Eberspacher with similar fuel consumption only a lot cheaper for the overall package. Excellent after sales service so far too (I needed some extra bits and they had them for me same day). Give them a ty there based in Millbrook, Southampton.

Good luck

I fitted an Eberspacher D2 to my Fisher 25 last year and it has worked perfectly. If you go for this one just make sure that the date sticker on the electronic timer shows a date of April 2002 or later - earlier timers were faulty (worked but you couldn't set certain day/time sequences)!

Cheers,

Jerry

Thanks.
Did you install it your-self? Have you had any problems with the fitting? Believe the iffy part is the placing and fitting of the exhaust. How did you cope with the kit/ Does it suit every boat or did you have to buy extras (eg. hot air tubing outlet fittings etc.)?
