Air Dog - auto follow quad copter

Multiple drone threads here so thought I'd go back to the "swimming" content - although there's tons of input here.

Waterstrider!

And yes, I finally bought a DJI4 but still reading and looking at vids/charging batts - bit scared TBH!
Just fly it matm - piece of cake :-)
Do a self/auto launch and it will just sit there and not even move. Then take your time learning what the sticks do.

Batteries aren't charged yet. And it's still dark and and and.

Oh and maybe I'll do it tomorrow. #scared

To be fair, one of the best pieces of kit I've seen in a long time. The packaging is incredible. Nearly as good as a rift - when I manage to combine the two then there's another whole experience awaiting.

Would you advise first flight at sea then? (You know why I'm asking... :D)
My earlier smash up was a phantom 1 jimmy. Phantom 3-4 is whole new world and is perfectly ok to launch at sea. If you take your hands off the sticks it is gps (and image) anchored, and you can easily bring it back gently on the sticks, pausing to think and compose yourself as needed, and it will pause as you pause

I feel better now

I am so glad I read this thread. Thought I was the only one stupid enough to loose an expensive drone into the marina!
I bought a phantom and go pro, had it for 6 months but it scared the life out of me...practiced in the garden and beach a few times but was all very stressful.
Eventually, sat down on the pontoon, one sunny afternoon in Palma, and decided I was going to master this thing.
15mins later it bounced as it landed, skidded and shot off into the water. Luckily, no go pro attached !
Skulked back on board the boat, ran gauntlet of tuts and knowing looks from SWMBO.
Vowed never to buy another.
but ........ then again...
