Numptie here managed to put the boathook into the spinning blades of the wind generator which cracked one of them. Not too badly - maybe 3mm deep, but sense to replace given the speed they rotate at. The shock is the cost of a set - £115.

I remember seeing someone flogging a modofoed design with chevrons to make the blades quieter, but I cant find them on E bay. Anyone know a suitable source of cheaper replacement blades?

Thanks TQA. I found them in the end but how do you buy from them? Direct? The website doesnt seem to work properly. Agents in other countries? And any idea how much the blades cost you?

I dont find the whooshing noise any sort of problem - probably age related deafness in the higher reaches. But I do have a rumbling noise transmitted down the pole through the rubber bushes into the hull and it seems to be getting worse. Is this the fables slip ring problem|?

Spotted them on a Chandlers shelf in Grenada.

Rumblings can also be bearings at least it was in the one I helped rebuild. Easy to diagnose by turning by hand and looking for any 'gritty' spots.
