I have 2 autohelms .... the AH800 and AH1000 micro Authelms with remote handheld control.

I use a standard notebook PC and chartplotting s/ware .....

no problem all works excellently.

BUT I cannot find anywhere any reference to wire in the autohelms except from manuals they speak about Radio Nav interface Z075. There is no wiring assistance, Raymarine web-site doesn't list the remote control or interface anymore etc.

Has anyone any idea or even have they a AH800 / AH1000 wired up to GPS or PC ?????

The GPS Nav group that I am in are looking at this as well and I am trawling every where I can to get an answer ....

Any electrical specialists out there .... ?? The Raytech Navigator Software manual gives Seatalk to NMEA and vice versa ... but that doesn't help etc.

If diagrams / pictures / files need to be tx'd to illustrate or describe this - then please send them to : ncl@naviatech.ee my private address.

Cheers

I have an Autohelm ST1000, and an old AH800 as a backup. As far as I can recall, the AH800 doesn't talk to anything - no data interface. The ST1000 has a SeaTalk data interface which will talk to other SeaTalk devices, but not directly to NMEA. On my last boat, I fitted a wind vane to drive the ST1000. This required a SeaTalk to NMEA interface - a small black box, which I think may be your Z075.

I would suggest you forget trying to talk to the AH800, and try to track down a a Z075 interface box for your ST1000

I still have the little Operation & Installation booklet that came with the interface. If you would like a copy, PM me

The Z075 interface plugs into the remote control socket of the AH800
It works by emulating button presses, i.e. it converts NMEA to a number of corrective 1 degree button presses dependant on the XTE NMEA message ( I think)

The AH800 has exactly the same connections as the AH1000 and in the manuals - they are identical instructions except for power of tillerpilot.

I think the 800 / 1000 designation is referring to the size of boat it suppoesedly can handle ...... 800 = 8mtrs etc.

I would like the data you mention ..... my address is :
