It would never have occurred to me that anyone would have sought that option
Surely all mobo owners act as friendly gentlemen welcoming their sailing brethren alongside.

So sod off and start your own 8loody thread on the raggie forum :p

When I owned a Sunseeker, some people had preconceived ideas about my character, not always flattering, Now I own a tugboat, I'm almost invisible to all, almost classless, but I do make a point of telling my rafted/on a trot fellow visitors that I will be starting my 38 year old perkins that smoke at start up, and will be leaving shortly thereafter.

They have so far been very understanding, and shut their hatches/portholes/doors, and on one occasion the gent astern of me battened down the hatches and walked 50mtrs upwind of me on the visitors pontoon:D

Daka,
How do you manage to observe so many acts of aggression, of infringements of the various rules you quote, and so many rescues?

Most of us just enjoy our time out on the water, and don't go looking for trouble. Yes, we see stuff, and deal with it as it happens. Usually it's helping other people out if they need a tow etc, but not a huge issue.

Basically it comes down to attitude and consideration, something which appears too prominently in all areas of life.

If more people altered their attitude a little, and had a little more consideration for others, many confrontational situations in life could be avoided.

Just one recent example was a road rage incident i witnessed, one driver thought his journey was more important than everyone else's. My response was simple, if his journey was so important he would have blue lights and a siren, and he had neither.

The only time i have been close to aggresion was when leaving Padstow at about 11 pm just after me port engine gave in and this pi**ock enters through the gate and stops.Stand on the flybridge with his hands on his hips like a real pr*ck blocking the way out and shouting to everybody to get out of the way.If i had the chance ive have done him some seriuos damage.but i had other things on my mind and put it down.Experience.Shame it had to be a MoBo.

Well this time Brendan I was sat in my car legally parked ignition off so I doubt even lescargot could place blame on my shoulders ;)

The kite surfer came hurtling along the beach, did a sharp turn, tugged his kie strings and leapt out of the water and used his kite to parachute down for a graceful landing.

It looked great fun, then he released his board and ran over to the beach angler for a scrap

Other times Ive been sat on friends boats having a beer and Ive seen fisty cuffs between raggies arguing over port solent lock

I assume you are engrossed in your own boat and missing all the scraps around you.

Daka:

I would agree with you on a proportion of kite surfers, witnesses one last year where they thought they owned the sea, and the first part of the beach. They started acting like total lunatics but it backfired, one caught a gust and ended up overshooting and landed on some very sharp rocks and lacerated nearly the full length of his body on one side.

As i say its all down to peoples attitudes and a little consideration goes a long way.
