Christie had a holiday home on the Dart - she probably knew somebody who'd done it, or at least who would consider it possible. She was similarly a pharmacist, and volunteered as such during the Second World War, and you've got to hope the Queen of Crime didn't confuse her two careers...

(Ever since visiting Greenway I've had a soft spot for her, especially for her keeping the amazing US coastguard artwork)
