thinking of adding an aft extension to my aquador 26C, bit like the grey brown canvas:
https://www.theyachtmarket.com/boats_for_sale/1632823/

it is fixed to the roof forwards and has poles to keep it up aft

not totally happy with the vertical poles as they will either be in the way or used as handholds

wonder if i could have a horizontal U bar fixed to the roof and held down with straps
take the canvas down / off during the winter

all suggestions welcome

How far aft in length do you want the canopy to extend?
If it's only a metre or less you could probably get away with a second braced horizontal support running parallel and below the top one.

You might wish to have a look at this thread for some ideas.
The main topic was actually rather different (flybridge hardtop), but is also drifted towards aft sunshades, including pics of some examples.

It works for other boats such as this MCY 86 on the bow, so I don't see why it shouldn't work at the opposite end.

Just had the tape measure out, a U shaped braket from the hard top will be quite an over hang, 2.5m when extended
So its going to be U poled out like the MCY 86 pic, hinged from the aft platform
Shall post a pic when done
