We’re thinking of upsizing to something with an aft cabin, but still want to be able to pass under Osney bridge.

I’ve seen what looks like quite a nice boat advertised, but we all know that photos of boats can be very deceiving , it’s a Scand 32.

If I go fast enough, do you think it’ll get under Osney?
I wonder if the current owner will let me try before I buy

Scand 32 eh Prof.....have read on here that they get the pox.....size of dinner plates according to one regular poster :)

So the GRP isn’t the best quality then....still, I’ve not heard of a boat sinking cause of the pox (not that my 49 year old boat has any)

You would probably need a soft top version with folding screens. I think the hard top has an air draft of around 11ft 6 ins.
Correct. Osney is only 7ft 6ins clearance so for an aft cabin boat you need folding screens. The alternative is to buy an ex-hire Broads cruiser with a sliding head. Quite a few tidy ones for sale with Norfolk brokers.

Bounty 30 (new style) Sovereignn 30, Renaissance 30 all have fold down screens and will clear under Osney Bridge.

I think he wants an aft cabin.
Shadow 33 or Freeman 32/33 if you can find a good one. Some Seamaster 30s have folding screens. Also elderly Broom 30.
