Aerogen through MPPV?

my Rutland ?13 goes through an old aerogen charge regulator. It provides no power! I have two solar panels going through an MPPV

I'm about to check the power output of the gen; if it works then is it possible to put it through the MPPV without damaging anything?

Matt

PS Edit: it's a Rutland - getting my wind gens mixed up!

Also, just seen thread about battery draining below. My electrics are more confused than a cat in a string factory; for example: the +ve and -ve to the tiller pilot are both white! Quite possible it's been fried

No MPPT regulators are a specific way of controlling a solar panel to get the maximum power from them.

Some wind gens are designed to be suitable for use with the same PWM controller as a solar panel Namely the small Marlec/Rutland wind gens can be used with the appropriate Rutland controller.
( dont know how they do that though)

ITYWF that the Aerogens require a shunt type regulator

You could in theory design a MPPT regulator to work with a wind generator, and it may well be done in some of them, but one designed for a solar panel would not work at all.

I had an Aerogen running successfully through a Rutland shunt regulator for many many years.

A shunt regulator yes but not an MPPT solar panel controller or one of the modern Rutland HRSi or HRDi hybrid wind and solar controllers .
