On the telly last night, Warship at Sea, they launched a drone off the deck in a decent gale, I was impressed. Maybe the RN has more manly kit than the retail punter.

Excellent and a great way forward for easily understood pilotage, in my opinion.

Needs a lot of work to be useful for pilotage. Taking Arisaig for example, the video shows nothing of the complexity of the passage in or out.
There's a lovely video on YouTube of that passage which may be found by searching for "Arisaig grounding by BBC presenter" . I'll try to find the exact link. It's very thought-provoking.

There’s no room up here (no really, apparently most marinas are full). Still nice and quiet away from the Clyde and the rat run between MoK and Tobermory, so do come up and enjoy the good bits north and west.
