Aerial to rigging?

I am fitting a stereo radio and considering fitting aerial wire to rigging chainplate. Don't want to use splitter to VHF, seems to be potential problems with that approach and don't fancy separate exterior aerial just for radio. Do interior aerials work ok, any particular make?
Any other possible ideas and suggestions would be welcome.

My FM stereo radio works perfectly well using an aerial of about two metres of unsheathed wire lying along the top of the lockers. I have never found the need for anything better.

Mine worked perfectly well with a small 'stubby' lying in the back of a locker. For many years I didn't even know it was there. I don't think car radios need anything sophisticated.
