Advices on new boatsez

Say hi to Cottage Point and Coal and Candle Creek.

After 20 years Akuna Bay is still one of my all time favourite spots. The infrastructure is getting a little tatty, as you might expect with age and wear, but the surroundings are simply stunning.

I noticed someone revived a thread recently about Clipper motor boats, this (Akuna Bay) was/is? their charter fleet base, and the Ku Ring Gai national park was the back drop

Did you get over to Bobbin Head and the old Halvorsen motor boat yard Major?

Next time you come over for a visit, I'll meet you in Sydney and we can charter a cruiser in the Hawkesbury?

Yes, went to Bobbin Head but don't recall the Halvorsen yard.

I may be in Oz Christmas 2011, but with my brother moving to the the country, not sure I will spend much time in Sydney.

Would love to visit Tassie.

I hear there is a great boat call AndieMac.

Lars Halvorsen built classic, and greatly admired/valued timber launches from a base at Bobbin Head. He and subsequent family also were the original charter boat builders and operators in this area.

Make sure you lock in some Tassie time Major, you will be pleasantly surprised. We've got plenty of room and lots of boats to play with, let me know your dates and movements.

Interesting...
Maybe he is wrong. He said he looked up the specs on the 7.4L Horizon and came up with 385hp... maybe it is the standard 7.4L with the water cooling option.
In my Google searching I did find references to 7.4L Horizons with 380hp (e.g. on other boats for sale), but they are few and far between.
I'm going out tomorrow for a closer look, and will get as much as I can from the service logs. I'll get the serial number too, which should translate into a model number.
First of all welcome to the madhouse.
I'm afraid I saw this thread just now, so I'm not sure if the above is still of some interest for you, but just in case yes, 385hp is the correct power of the 454 Mag MPI Horizon - which btw is the correct model designation, in cubic inches rather than liters.
If you're interested in more details, this is the user manual.
You can find the engine specs at the 78th page of the PDF file (numbered as page 76 of the manual).
All the best for your new boat!
