Advice on sanding rubbing streak

I think the original poster should be very careful if he's using mains voltage tools/generator with water around (as is likely with a boat run aground between tides). I've read more than once of people getting killed in similar circumstances.

A few years ago someone on here suggested grinding off the end tips of the blades so that they don't dig in as you scrape. That was a really good tip.

Darn it wish I had had that advise.... duly noted and will dull the corners of my scraper. Top Tip.
