Advice on repairing Webasto 90mm ducting please

One solution would be to wrap it in aluminium foil and hold that with twisted wires - not particularly pretty but should do the job. Or you could use something like Armaflex pipe lagging tape and insulate the pipe at the same time.

90mm aluminium bypass ducting from local motor factor / car spares shop. Cut existing duct and slide the new bit inside or alternatively see if the old duct will slide inside the new aluminium section - wire it on either way and wrap with some insulation.

Go to grocery store with tape measure.
Find two cans of beans (or whatever).
First can must fit inside existing duct. Cut both ends off.
Second can must be larger than existing duct. Cuts both ends off plus slit lengthwise.
Now combine with existing duct.

There is a partial split in the 90mm air ducting a couple of inches from where it joins to our Webasto Evo 5500 heater.
Is there a tape that will withstand the heat that it would be possable to wrap around the ducting?
Thanks in anticipation.

You can get a metalised self adhesive duct tape. Halfords have it however you might get a better grade if you go to the local fella who supplies gas fitters.

On Ebay as someone else said.

+1 been there, done that. Wrap all in gaffa tape, lasted several years before another part of the pipe broke down
