Evening all,

I'm kind of hoping that one or more of you lot will be able to swing some good, and much needed advice, over my way.

Basically I'm working as a deckie/ steward on a 30m yacht in Panama at the moment but going through the canal in the next few weeks.

I've got in the habit of writing monthly updates, a sort of journal, which people have mentioned getting into magazines for a wider audience, some of the places we have been to and will be visiting would make great reading material, and I've been taking some OK pictures to go with them.

Basically, has anyone got an idea about how to approach magazines or newspapers with a pitch when I'm 8,500 miles away? I had quite a few yachting articles published in 2004/05, but that was a lot of work face to face and over the phone, email doesnt seem to cut it.

For instance, do we think that YM would accept a Blue Water Correspondant for the younger generation?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

best, Paul

Send the editor a couple of articles, with a covering letter each time, and see what happens- lots do it so it may take some time
