Advice needed - tenders

I'm looking in to replacing my current tender (Quicksilver 250AD) with a 3m RIB - possibly the Valiant 300 with jockey console and 10hp Mercury.....but I still want it to fit on my bathing platform. I have the following questions/concerns...

o Is this too big for my V40's bathing platform (increase of 50cm in length and 12cm in beam over current tender)

o Is this all too heavy? Approx. 96kg (passarelle is rated at 110kg). This is about double the weight of existing 250ad and honda o/b. (mind you - v40 = 8.5 tonnes, Portofino 400 = 12.5 tonnes with smaller engines!)

Any advice welcome. An extra 50cm x 12cm doesn't seem much on paper, but it looks a lot bigger in the showroom.

Why? Well this seems to be the smallest/lightest package with a steering wheel and capable of towing a ringo for the kids. I know, I know, but SWMBO and the kids saw one at the show and want one! Who am I to argue?

To give you an idea of scale, here is the current set-up below (250cm dinghy - bear in mind the valiant is a bit more pointy at the bow so I could get away with some overhang)...

Looks like the one you have is quite bis enough. A tender is for transport to and from. Light enough to carry up the beach if necesary. Its not for towing ringo's sorry. Anyway if your crane thingy dont break, it looks like the nose will stick out one end and get knocked off by the first decent wave!!..../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
