Advice for Locks

We were tied up to it on Saturday, quite shallow at the downriver end and as the water was so clear SWMBO noticed a bike in the river, surprise, surprise, so with legs trimmed up we got in OK and fished the bike out. Hadn't been in long as still quite shiny still, was still on the bankside on Sunday as well!

No!

Actually, one day last year we stopped there for lunch and I asked for Ham, eggs and chips but was told they had no eggs! (Supermarket only a couple of minutes away, mind !!)
Anyway, swmbo says "no problem, we have some eggs on the boat which she duly delivers and they cook and serve.
She paid the bill and it was only later that I discovered we had been charged the full price for the Ham eggs and chips with no adjustment for us supplying the eggs. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Actually, I find the 'Disabled Bollard' quite bizarre and wonder what the story is behind it. There are no associated notices and I'm not sure whether it is the only one or if, as one would expect, there are actually two of them.

Anyway, we seem to have helped EA Medway make a practical decision re new lock bollards. Maybe we should offer our services to Reading as a review body for mainstream Thames decisions ? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I feel a new thread coming on........

Would be nice to get a response on the last point raised as to where all the lock keepers were the other weekend?

I thought Ian and his softly softly approach would have got a response by now??? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
