As a visitor to Medway Yacht Club taking a mooring I have been asked to leave the tiller lashed hard over (forgrt which way requested) and that did seem effective as we turned with other boats at the change of tide.Possibly because the wood there gives so much shelter from one direction or the wind dropped conveniently .
