Hi . ..I see that I need light grey paint for my 1953 'Skimming Dish'. In the specs I read it should have a coat of : D.N.C./M/72 and one of: 73. anyone got any idea what these are ? and where to find them.-please.
Thanks.

I'm not sure about the numbers you quote.
I wanted Light Admiralty Grey paint for the Petter engine in my Hillyard, as I wanted to repaint the engine into its original colour scheme. I knew the original colour was what seemed to be a very pale green, almost grey looking in some lights. After an ex Petters employee told me the colour, I went searching for it, but there seemed to be so many variations. I ordered, after seeing a colour sample, what I thought was the correct shade, from a specialist in 'vintage engine' paints but what I got resembled nothing like the sample! The engine had previously been re-painted so thoroughly that there was little to use as a sample, but in the end I did have just enough to match up with colour charts at my local supplier, which did end up being a very pale Dulux green shade.
I don't suppose this helps, but good luck in your search, and let us know how you get on. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
