Hi guys, it's been a while, good to see there are still some familiar names on the forum :)

Can someone please help me with a minor niggle, my twin morse controls for a pair of KAD32's don't align for the same revs, the stbd is forward of the port control. How do I adjust one lever to align to the other whilst maintaining the same revs? Is it as simple as adjusting the nut where the morse cable connects to the throttle control on the engine or is there more to it than that, there usually is with boats :)

The controls are VP SL-3's

All the Best Gary

Yes and yes

If the cables connect to the control throttle arm at the same distance then the travel on the cable should be the same
worth checking the backlash on the cables is similar adjust from forward gear just engaged ie lever still in detent.
Because the mechanism are mirrored you may find that the levers might not align in neutral.

Not sure how the rev counters are connected, but I wasted half a day on my Cummins engines trying to get the throttles level.. only to find out the rev counter was out by around 400rpm, it appears that a previous owner adjusted it to mask a turbo issue... Ie the turbo was rotten, still boosting but not making wot... I footed the bill for that too!

Worth checking with a laser tach first..

Ouch!

It wasn't all bad.. at least I ended up going through everything on both engines and getting them back up to spec. Doing the work myself means I saved big money and know now how to do it again, not that I plan having the turbos reconditioned again!

Anyway hopefully the op is just a rev counter calibration if they are that simple .. worth checking though... I'm not familiar with the VP stuff..
