I am sure that I have seen / heard of a company selling adhesive stainless steel in small sheets / strips for use as rubbing strip or other protection

My traveller lines run over the corner of the gel and are beginning to wear through

Cant recall the firm and google gets no where ( at least when I am driving !) so does anyone know what I am talking about and where I can get some please

get your own cut and silicon them on much cheaper /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I looked at the plates on offer and decided that they are ridiculously expensive for what they are. I have in mind to ask my local SS supplier for some thin metal sheet and make some myself and stick them on with Sikaflex. Havn't got round to it yet, but even if he polishes them up, I don't belive that they will be one quarter the price of those available from the source mentioned in the previous post.

My gel coat gets worn in exactly the same way. I must do something about it but for years now have built up the F/g and painted it. I did try some Kevlar strands in the resin last time but I am not sure it was a success. Perhaps it was i havn't noticed a lot of wear since? good luck olewill

I used some thin stainless sheet as a splash back when renovating the sink in the heads. I biought the sheet very cheaply on E-Bay and used impact adhesive to fix in place. It cuts quite well with a decent hacksaw and some care, with some juditious filing to remove the sharp edges
