Adhesive for Henderson Chimp Pump

I have a replacement diaphragm and valve set for my manual bilge pump, a Henderson Chimp 1. It came with the boat and is clearly in good condition, but didn't come with the adhesive the instructions say is needed to seat the valves. Does anyone know what type of adhesive I need, please? I think the valves are neoprene but want to be sure as this is my 'the boat is filling with water' pump.
