Additional filters for the watermaker

I'm getting a watermaker installed in my new boat. 130lph unit by Idromar. There are some optional items like a water softener, UV steriliser, carbon filter and sand filter. The boat will be in the med and water produced is for domestic use as well as cooking and feeding the icemaker. Which items are crucial to have?

Our boat had a watermaker when we bought her,
the Idromar had a cloth filter and a carbon filter fitted, nothing else.

we use the water from the tank for everything except "drinking"
boat has old steel tanks, but water never had a bad taste.
I've never put in any threatment, but we consume loads of water, even in winter, the tanks are regularly emptyed and filled again.

I took the icemaker out of the boat because it took too much valuable space in the galley,
and we used the cubes only very occasionally for cooling the bottles, never in a drink.

if you place extra filtering, I think you better place that on the tank outlet

I'm gladd we have the watermaker,
but despite the fact that we spend many nights on anker, the watermaker isn't used much.

I'm interested in others opinion,

Many thanks for your advice. I am going to check if the filters can be located after the tank. As they need pressure,would they need to be located after the domestic pump?

I intend to keep the tank sanitised by manually adding chlorine after every fill and shocking it annually.

For the icemaker, I am looking at installing on the inlet of the device, a seagull IV filter, which claim to have good tasting drinking water output. Has anyone used them for drinking or ice making?

Generally I am wondering with what source of water icemakers are being fed. Boat makers tend to feed them from the tank which doesn't seem to me the most hygienic solution.
