Adding an additional B&G Triton Display.

Good Evening,

Our boat is in La Rochelle and we are in Leytonstone so need to make sure that we are taking what we need to do the job next week if at all possible.

I have an additional Triton display that I want to add to our existing B&G network that already has one Triton display networked with two Zeus MFDs. The additional display will be located next to the existing Triton display head and the question is can I just piggyback data to the new Triton display from the existing Triton display by a single line from one display to the other, or do I have to take a new spur from the new display to the NMEA 2k backbone?

I have read the installation manuals and it is unclear, at least to me, which method is required to link the new display head to the existing display and the NMEA network. I have seen both alternatives shown in the manuals and it may be that either works.

Anybody know the answer?

I have four Triton heads daisy chained together with a Zeus2 MFD. Everything works fine.

Does the MFD have an in and out NMEA socket? My Vulcan only has a single NMEA socket. Otherwise you’ll need a tee and drop cable along with a terminator. Unless the MFD is at the end...

My memory is not what it was. The heads are not daisy chained, they are each on an individual drop-down. Sorry for confusion.

Thanks, glad to hear that I am not the only one. I think I will take a bag of various connectors to cover the varied options.

Not visible to me, though it's not a problem with your image file itself.

My browser won't load the URL given because its security certificate isn't valid, and if I try the http version then my network provider blocks it as "Illegal" (which might well be a false positive, of course).

Strange. I see it on two devices. Postimage is not usually a problem, I am using it a lot now.

Correct, they're NMEA2000 connections, so each has to be dropped from the backbone.
