Added up the jobs to do list.

Because it was a rubbish day, I started carting stuff off the boat, and set the dehumidifier running.
I surveyed the boat for the jobs to do list, and although quite long, does not seem to be as extensive or intensive as last year.

So, I am at 97 on the spreadsheet.

Most of these are maintenance, but the improvement programme continues, but at a very much reduced level, as SWMBO has declared the NEED eek for a new cooker indoors, as we have a new shiny one to fit on the boat, so we are skint.

Coming out at Rochford I think, should be there between Christmas and New Year.

Anything to avoid a dreary winter drive from the London to the South Coast to spend the day on a cold, dark boat and then finding you have forgotten some essential tool, or trying to avoid the boat-yard bores who have nothing else to do except interrupt your work.

e.g. "Ah that's a Twister, isn't it?" (He knows perfectly well it is). Never fancied one myself: no room/too wet/won't steer astern etc. We much prefer our floating caravan. Big oven, king-size bed, shower, bidet, flat-screen tv, etc,"

"Me too! I've got to put up some new curtains this year and change the battery in the clock."

I have changed the velcro on the custom made quilted duvet cover, so thats one job that didn't make it to the list, phew.
I have a new Spinflo cooker to fit, but haven't yet done the package work on my 3D CAD system for the rise and fall mechanism for the flat screen TV. Fully damped of course.

BTW, if you think that new boats are maint resistant, you really ought to come and bother me, so I can give you some work to do.

Little jobs that crop up during the year generally get done as they crop up. We weekend on the boat most weeks and don't have a fully damped (or otherwise) flat screen TV. So we while away the evenings bolting back all the things that fell off during the day. The plan is, when Winter arrives we don't have anything to do. We can then just pop down, nip out for a quick cruise or try to catch a Cod for tea, no jobs in the cold. Well, that's the plan.

Keep an eye on things, but as long as it does what it's supposed to, I'm not going to mess with it much. Engine oil & filter + annode changes excluded.
