Trying to find the right guy to fully adapt a new boat for disabled use, probably will need fibreglass work as well for wheelchair access, if any one knows any experts in this field or have links to any company that would be great, even if any one has had anything similar done all input gratefully received.
Thanks Mike

I think that Colin Mudie was involved in the design of the Jubilee Sailing Trust vessel Lord Nelson, and he has had extensive experience of designing other vessels as well for disabled use. Hence he could perhaps offer some good advice?

His website www.colinmudie.com does not appear to be working, but here are his contact details :

Have a look also at the Impossible Dream website - http://www.impossibledream.org.uk/idream.html
She was built in Millbrook in Cornwall by these folk http://www.multimarine.co.uk/ and I think she was designed by Darren Newton who could also probably offer some good advice.

I would point you in the direction of Brooms of Brundall. This summer I was moored next to a boat (Broom 450, so a similar size) they converted for a disabled owner and they had fitted a lift which worked on either side of the boat plus, I believe, a special powered seat and internal lifts.

There was, maybe still is, a flybridge 50er, on a colvic sunquest hull, adapted for wheelchair use, in the marina at Port Frejus, South of france twixt St Tropez and Cannes. It had an external lift cage for the wheelchair from transom up to aft edge of flybridge. Looked a beatifully engineered job and really carfully done to look nice. Sorry I don't know its name or who made it but it's likely still there if you know anyone near there or can google it
