AD41P-A temp issue

I've got two AD41P-A's and i'm seeing some strange things with the engine temps.

On tick-over both engines sit at a nice low temp and all is good.

Motor 30 mins down the Hamble and the right engine goes very quickly to 90c..as in within 5 mins...and stays there even at speed. It drops down when at tick-over again.

The right hand engine stays cool all the way in the same 30 mins but gets to 90 as its should when at speed but stays cool until at speed.

So neither engine is overheating and both perform as they should but the right engine seems to get hot quickly and the left takes a bit too long to warm up.

Any ideas folks? not a major issue at the moment but want to find out what happening as this is a new issue in the past 2 months.

Thermostat failed open (or safe) on the left engine I would say

Yes i think the thermostat might be open and no my engines don't heat water..ive got a diesel heater for that.

You don’t mention the port or left engine unless you mean the 4th paragraph which is the port, the one I put the new circ pump on which is an apgrade to the starboard That’s might be why.

I forgot about that Paul thanks. But it was running fine for months and then this happens.

Something has changed but don't know what.

The engine that doesn’t heat up until running fast needs a thermo stat. Very important that your diesel comes up to operating temp (90) as quickly as possible. If it doesn’t you get poor combustion conditions. All the best.
