AD31 - Pencil Anodes....

A few weeks ago a few of you answered my question that pencil anodes do exist on my AD31 Diesel.

Speaking to Volvo I have discovered that from late 1998 Volvo stopped using pencil anodes on this engine, apparently they have balanced out the metals - personally I think my Oil Sump became the anode!

Yes most likely story is that Volvo, not interested in this engine anymore. So no good for marketing so forget it.

Seem to remember an artical in one of the mags a while ago about casting these yourself, am i right in thinking they are the ones that screw into the block, Ill have a look see thru the mags to see if i can find it

Yes they do screw into the engine block.
