Well, I certainly don't claim that we're pioneers to have done this, but it seems that there are few enough people going long-distance cruising in little boats these days. Perhaps the blog may encourage anyone hoping to do the same, and serve as a reminder that you really don't need an Oyster to go cruising!

Thanks for posting, excellent blog. I don't think that more or less small boats are doing it these days, it's just easier to hear about the ones that do. If anything I think there are more large boats doing it these days as they become more accessible but the true adventurers will always go regardless of the vessel!

Lovely blog , I left Mindelo on the 27th of Jan , the day before and we took 15 days but ours was a 47 footer !!! so he made good progress considering the size of her , reading it brings it all back , must have rubbed shoulders in Mindelo , going to look at my video footage and see if I can find her .......... Great blog! Really good write up. Thanks for posting.

Interesting sail plan, I would have given anything not to have had to worry about the boat gybing at 6 in the morning! :) Unlucky re the oranges, ours lasted for the entire trip though we didn't have a fridge, and I know what I would have rather had :)

Btw were you in the Canaries at the same time the ARC was leaving. I think you may have met Oliver Kinchin from Troskala.

Take it easy.

Apologies to anyone having a look at a link that mysteriously appeared in my original posting #4 *I have now edited it out.

A bug has come in to my computer and has given links from some words I type in, to advertise rubbish - again, apologies.

p.s. anyone know how to stop it and to prevent pop-ups that now happen every few seconds?

S.
