Acetone as a Cleaner!

Knew a model maker who carefully fitted his Perspex cases, tied them together, then put a drop or two of formaldahyde on one corner. Capilary action carried all round the joints and welded it together. No smears or blobs, perfect.

Are you sure it was formaldehyde? I don't think it can do much to perspex. Probably more likely to have been chloroform.
