Access to Excel

MBY and some other scources suggest that from the Euston/St Pancras/Kings Cross rail termini one should then go on the tube to Green Park then change lines to go to Canning Town where one can change onto the DLR for Custom House. This seems a long way round when one compares it to the route on the tube directly to The Bank where one can then change on to the DLR.
Have any of you out there navigated either of these routes ? If so, any comments/advice please, before Jan 6th.

I cant answer your question, but am interested in whether there will be adequate car parking? and if they are an easy distance from the entrance?

My advice would be not to go by train, the DLR is a nightmare and has more problems than trains. There is quiet a lot of parking around Excel and access is not to bad, however it is the Docklands, it does not have the best road network and what ever way you go from experiance it is a bad journey.

Thought that was an IT question access to excel, I think Bank tube is the way forward but I don't have any info on parking. I've been to Excel a few times and it's a well laid out, looking forward to it.

God. We had one for that in the Sabden Treacle mines circ. 1850. You only got round to it now. ?? You may discover tripe next!!

Beer scooter was developed by Bacchus during Roman Empire, so the treacle mines were a bit slow in taking on old technology :)

No they are a speciality of the North. We don't like all that industrialised stuff down here. Better take the panto on a tour of them, cos lots of newbies that haven't seen them yet

In my experience Excel is a nightmare to get to. The worst possible place to get to, if you travel from the west of London, IMHO. I've been to a few trade exhibtions and don't like the place.

Having said that. I'm going and plan to get the Thames Clipper river bus from the Embabkment to Canary Wharf where they run an inclusive minibus to Excel. At £9 return a bit pricey, but less than car parking at Excel, and you get a trip down the river on a fast Cat.

Forget all the trains and DLR, Do what we're doing..

Flying into London City Airport.......... I gather its quite close..

We are going on Monday 12th, to avoid the rush hour we were thinking of driving in real early and getting some breakfast nearby.

Does anyone know if you can get something to eat near the Excel, a Little Chef or something like that?
