Access to Bray Marina closed 4th September

Driving to the Marina this weekend we saw signs saying that the road (A308) and Monkey Island Lane will be closed on Sunday 4th Sept 8am to 2pm. The Marina staff didn't seem very aware so I thought I'd see if anyone knew more than that and to warn people that this might be the case. We had planned to take friends out that day but might be tricky now :(

Following complaints from Bray Lake Watersports, MDL & Bray Marine Sales the Organisers have agreed to ensure access down Monkey Island Lane from the A308.

However you will need to approach on the A308 from the Windsor direction as the stretch from the end of the lane to Braywick roundabout will be shut.

We first heard about the closure of Monkey Island Lane for this event on Monday 22nd August.

Together with our tenants and other local business in the area we have managed to pressure the organisers to ensure access down Monkey Island Lane. We have been informed that the main body of runners will pass down the A308 & Monkey Island Lane between 09.45 to 10.15.

The roads in the surrounding area will not be closed for the whole time as indicated on the signs. The organisers will be operating rolling road closers so they will open as soon as the last runner is though. If you do have to approach the Marina from the Bray Wick roundabout there will be a diversion though Fifield village.
