Been using this app on Iphone for a year or so and really like it. I've noticed of late that if I'm out of Wi-fi or 3G/4G range when I attempt to open it just closes itself after the initial screen has displayed for a second or two. If I open app within data connection range it works fine.

Before I get in touch with the developer, can I just check that this app should open fine without a data connection (using stored data I assume). I'm pretty sure mine used to but my memory is not to be trusted these days.

No, that shouldn't happen. I've tried testing it using my iPad in aeroplane mode and it started fine.
In the privacy settings on your device, make sure you have enabled sending diagnostic data to apple and also sharing it with developers. This will ensure any crash data will get sent to us.

Also, checking you are running the latest version of the app, telling us which iPhone you are using, which iOS version and which weather region you are using will be helpful.

Its an iphone 6 plus running ios 10.3.1 (most recent update), weather region is North Foreland to Gibraltar Point. Have switched sending diagnostic data on. I just tried to open app in airplane mode and it worked fine. As far as I can tell its when I'm out of reach of data connection that its happening.

How do I tell if I'm running latest version of app? There's no update reminder on the app icon on home screen.

i think the apple store may be different but on android the app automatically updates itself if you have a data connection. again it may be different on apple but on android you can uninstall and reinstall free once you have purchased the app which might be the way to go.

I lost all the apps on my android phone when a default system reboot went wrong.

I had Abs Tides on the working version. I re-installed without any trouble, so agree with Burnham Bob above, it will re-install free.. It's a clever, robust app, and now I have found out how to tell when the access pontoon dries out at lowish tide, it's even more useful.

And we get direct support from the developer here :)

OK I've found the issue and will fix it in the next release of the Apple software (might take a few weeks, though). In the mean time, if you find you are having trouble starting the app then just go into aeroplane mode before starting the app. Once the app's running, its safe to come back out of aeroplane mode.

I have an android version (Sony Z2 Tablet) - the tidal flow screen should display for the area selected and not just East Solent?
I am in N Ireland and get correct tide times for my region including the secondary ports, etc but it only ever displays Isle of Wight, East Solent

Any ideas?

Can't help with Bernie's issue - but just to report that the bug I described seems to have been sorted now, hasn't occurred for a while now, so cheers. Great little app.

When you are looking at the tide flows, the top of the page shows the date and below that the region being displayed. Click on the region name and a dropdown list of regions will appear. Select your choice of region.

Good to see the author of this excellent app on here. I'd be interested to know whether this is a bug or a 'feature'.
If I click on 'today' to show the tidal graph and then swipe left a couple of times it shows the graph for 2 days hence. If I click 'Now' at the bottom the data at the top of the screen goes back to 'now' but the graph stays where it is, 2 days in the future. If I swipe left once again it does start from 'now' so shows the graph for tomorrow. I find it a bit disorienting so end up going back to the table view and clicking 'today' again so I'm sure that I'm back on today's graph again.

Cheers
