Having returned from the boat show and seen the sealine and princess new 50 foot flybridge I came across Absolutes new 50 footer and on the web site it looks really impressive. I have no knowledge of Absolute and on checking they do not appear to have much in the way of European/uk dealers close to this side of Europe.

So what do you know about absolute, is the build good? has anyone seen the 45 or 50 fly as they seem to pack a lot in. Appreciate forumites knowledgeable comments.

Absolute have a good quality build. Company was founded in 2002/3.
Its founders have been in the boating business since the 1960's most notably Gobbi, who had the yard with the same name from that decade till 2007.
He sold Gobbi in 2000 to Azimut-Benetti. Reason for buying is that Gobbi has also one of the best serial production build set up for boats in Europe.
All the management of Absolute come from Gobbi, from the main engineers and sales reps.
Worth of note is that Absolute has also one of the totally in-house set ups for design and engineering of its boats.

For IPS pods I think they are one of the most experienced yards, since they started experimenting them since 2005 when they launched the 56 (at the time there flagship).
The 56 was also the first triple powered IPS powered boat, and was completely designed around IPS from the start.
Nowadays (since about five/fours years) all the Absolute range has IPS power.

They had a UK dealership which I think was stopped in 2009. There is a couple of Absolute owners here, and I have sold inspected a couple of the 2006/7 41 and 45 and has always been positively satisfied.

Thanks for that update. Their 50 looks quite stunning on the web site with loads more room and better layout than the Princess 49. Don't even know where I would get ideas of prices as they have just e mailed me to say select your dealer and talk to him.
Bsed on some of this I Guess re sale prices will be down in the uk

41 and 45 sell (sold) quite well in the UK. New models are not very much widespread.

They are competitive to Princess 49 but a bit bigger, and you also need to add shipping. New models are fast sellers in the Med.
52 is current strongest model and has sold very well in the last two years (over 50) and you do not find them on the used market that much.

Yep, get my point now and according to statistics it has a crew cabin at under 50 foot. Cant get any price indication at all and I wonder what its like to not have any dealer support etc

The 50 should be around or just under 700,000 EUROS with IPS600, and standard sped ex shipyard in Piacenza.

I saw a video online of the 52 Fly which was doing 4.9 liters per miles at 25 knots with the same engines which is indeed very good, for a 16 meter 22 tons flybridge yacht.

Very good boat on first impressions. Had a good look at cannes. I was quoted €670k + €310k options (I admit I do tend to add every option going like tropical air con, seakeeper, teak decking, electric this/that, etc).

Was very close to buying one!

50% on extras. Sounds quite a list. Did you do a sea trial at all?

Did not do a sea trial and no reports around on any sea trials. The seakeeper (from memory) is €50k, tropical air con with generator also €60k. Hydraulic Gangway would add another €20k and volvo virtual anchor another €20k. Soon all adds up! These are all prices from memory.

Like I said, I tend to add everything!

I saw one at duseldorf last Jan and was impressed.

i then went on one for drinks in Mallorca and was similarly impressed. The boat did not move when i was on it but it is a well thought out boat in my view.

The Mallorca agent is Paddy Harrison who I am sure will sell you one with a nice discount (my words not his!) info@5staryachts.com
