Yup! My wife constantly says this.

And she is always right

I just hit something metallic sounding in this spot 15ft off the bank by the river ock bridge. My barge only draws abut 2ft6.

The depth showed 3ft so I think its a trolley or something but the River certainly is shallow there.

Maybe it is silt from the ock when flooding?

I've just seen a video on facebook of the sandbank being dredged, hopefully they'll sort this problem out while they're at it
