Abandoned GRP boats - line between theft and rescuing...

I kept a dinghy unused in the sailing club park for a good few years. I would check on it only once or twice a year. Latterly, I wasn’t able to visit the club for at least two years and when I returned I found that my dinghy had been appropriated.

I tried to make enquires via the club but received no response.

The following week I returned with roof bars fitted to my car and took it home. I then sold it on eBay.

Yep some Clubs are like that ; them delight in Clearing Up others boats etc ; real bgrs them committee members can be URG

Does this ever look good? Old dinghies should either be rescued and repaired, as the OP wants to do, or broken up and properly disposed of. Using them as flower beds is always a mistake, in my opinion.

I think they look good there anyway. There was a reason for it at least, to create a barrier at the edge of a carpark, and probably better to use something from the environment than buying something to put there.
