Aaargh; another "wot yot" post

Re: Yet another idea

I don't think the Sadler 29 is that small below. Its OK for a boat of that size .. there's more room in it than a Contessa 32

[/ QUOTE ]Thats hardly competition though..... i've sailed dinghies with more room below than a Co32.... (there couldn't resist that - i'd like to start the opposite of Bav bashing.. the Co32 is a bit of a squeeze bash... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Parker 275! The lifting keel would allow it to rest comfortably on your current mooring.

[/ QUOTE ] I'd agree with this too.

A Pilot Cutter 30, suggested by TK, sits on the corner of the river - the faded dark red one - which you and James would recognise.

A great sea boat I'm sure, but not sure raising the bowsprit everytime one visits a marina would make it a good option for a family of novices.

Re: Yet another idea/argument

Having recently sailed on an Oceanis 393 I thought it was a lovely interior in the marina, but I would much rather have my Contessa 32-type saloon at sea. You can squeeze-bash all you like, but I don't want a face-bashing when the boat falls off a wave!

But then I don't have to worry about accommodating the SWUTHTBO (She Who Used To Have To Be Obeyed) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Aaargh; another \"wot yot\" post

Thanks everyone, some interesting ideas here. Several people have suggested the Sadler 290 which, I have to confess, ticks all my boxes, but the price - eeek! Don't seem to be many/any "previously enjoyed" ones out there either - presumably a testament to their popularity with their existing owners.

Parker 275 also looks interesting and would probably allow me to stay on my current mooring, so long as LOA isn't too much for it. I think a M*cGr*g*r 26 is the biggest boat in my neighbourhood at the moment.

We'll see.

They are a bit older than you wanted but take a look at gibseas. You will struggle to find more space for their size and they sail well too.
