AA batteries

Amazon do Energiser AAs at about 40p each in bulk packs. I too used to use lots of NiMh rechargeables: good rechargeables are certainly better for high drain devices, but got fed up with the hassle of constantly recharging them. Was already using alkalines for low-drain stuff, for which they are better suited, so now just use them for everything.

I've been using Varta Alkaline AA batteries bought in a bulk pack - 40 I think from Screwfix. They seem good, used Ikea in the past which came out quite well in Which, and are cheap.

I have had bad experiences with Duracell's leaking and destroying the internals.I was especially upset about the damage caused to my tidal clock. Even though the clock was still working. The rechargeable Duracells work very well. I now buy 7 Day Shop batteries which don't leak and are much cheaper than Duracells.
