A3 Closure

The A3 will be closed from Headley Road (essentially the Hindhead traffic lights) to Liphook from Friday the 27th at 10pm through to Monday the 30th at 5 am.

All part of the Hindhead tunnel construction. Should be a real mess! Assume most of the traffic will re route through Haslemere. Good luck.

Actually, since the road works started Ihave found the whole Hindhead issue better than before - certainly I have travelled throu much quicker than previously on Fri afternoon/eve and Sunday back up.

Deep joy! Couple that with the roadworks on the A3 between Guildford & Milford, and that makes it even more fun.

Another warning. Beware of white Transit camera van that parks on the A3 just beyond Petersfield, in the parking place at the bottom of the hill after the "hilly / rocky" section.

It is a Prestige 32. Yes, people coming in tomorrow from Denmark...fingers crossed!!! Boat is pretty much new and a big discount to new one particularly if you are on the continent. I have lots of pictures if anyone interested.

I still have to commute 3 days a week this route to Isleworth. Between 6am and 8pm its quicker off peak to divert via Bordon and Farnham, then to M25 via Blackwater Valley and M3 or A31 to Guildford and rejoin A3.

In the real peaks I find it overall quicker and a more pleasant drive anyway to go via Selbourne but then from Alton go to M3 via Odiham or Basingstoke via Lasham. Sometimes bonus of being beat up by a lowing flying Chinook or spotting new old airliners at Lasham.
