A Year in Pictures - 2013..

I think I can play this game... :)
My Monterey 218LSC just prior to launching at the beginning of the season a few years ago.
Geez... FF and Alt did a great job, but your pic is surrealistic.
What the heck did you do that hull?!? I can't even tell if she's white, blue, or anything else!

Our 2013 was a bit of a mixed year, that brilliant weather we had earlier in the year... I kind of missed that through other commitments, but hey, there's always next year.
Anyway, pictures weird and wonderful of 2013 welcome in reply!!

Brilliant idea, and some great pics indeed FF, thanks for sharing them with us.
Oh, and since you asked, I quickly picked a few of mine which (IIRC) I didn't already post, just as a small contribution...
Besides, if anyone's interested to have a look at something which has nothing to see with boats, but should be more familiar for you Brits, I posted only yesterday a few other (end of) 2013 pics in the following post, which you might have missed 'cause it was in the Lounge.... :)

Thank you. :)

Several coats of Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine followed by a couple of coats of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection. I did the whole boat from the waterline up (apart from the non slip areas obviously) all by hand.

I also found a way of hanging off the foredeck holding on to the pulpit rail with one hand so that I could wash the boat right down to the waterline with Autoglym Shampoo Conditioner after every trip out. I may have been a bit obsessive with hindsight, but it did look fantastic. :D

Anyway, sorry to derail the thread a bit.

Nick, not obsessive at all, just looking after your pride and joy...and investment!

Good work. I do use AG Extra Gloss protection on my cars, which I am equally obsessive over. But boat I use Silveryak... its cheap in comparison to others, but 40% canuba wax content & the shine on the hull lasts the whole season without touching.... topsides of course does need topping up during the year... as does that dreaded Hardy blue band which is my nemesis.

Firefly, thank you, I'll look out for Silveryak, I've not heard of it before.

Alt, you're dead right! If I'm ever fortunate enough to own a boat like yours I think I'll be cheating and getting a man in to do it!

I picked up on firefly's recomendation of the Silveryak wax and used it last year, it was still shiny with water beading when she came out in November. I have jow done three coats of my 38ft hull with one bottle and there is still lots left. I have tried several other brands but none worked anything like this well. Smells great as well!
Having read what I have just rambled on about should say no connection at all just happy to have found something that worked!

Is it applied by hand or machine?

I apply it by hand, its really easy to use.

I have used silveryak with polisher and by hand, good results either way, I machine polish hull and topsides before re-launch in Feb/March, hand apply to topsides every now and again..

again, no connection... just happy customer who has used countless other brands over the years!

I posted earlier but it seems to have disappeared into cyber space.

Have you thought about re-locating to Yarmouth, drive to Lymington, park, foot passenger across?

+1 for Silveryak, and thanks to Firefly for the tip.

Hi Ben, well yes we have quite a few times! It's the case that the boat just an hour away at mercury is the main reason I want to stay put. We have friends in Yarmouth with some land to park a car and this year we have taken advantage of that quite a bit. Next year i think we intend to leave a car there the whole year if we can!

We very nearly left one of our Morris Minors over there this year, we too, have friends we could leave him with.
