It's been 18 years since I had a fag, was on 30 a day (50 if I went to the pub) then just had enough of it. You're right though, It's the attitude that makes the difference, I used to say it was easy giving up ....I'd done it 100s of times. Then when I finally made up my mind to do it properly, job's a good 'un.
Always will be an ex smoker though. Sad thing is SWMBO can't seem to manage the trick

Flipping eck, you'll be upgrading boat and moving to a swanky marina soon.

I wish I had something I could give up that would save me £5k a year - maybe I should try food. that would probably do me good!

£5k would be nice but I been rolling my own for a good few years now! No way could I have afforded to smoke that many tailor made in recent years

Saving with both of us giving up still adds up to over £1.5k a year though which is not to be sneezed at
