Just got down to the boat after her facelift over the last couple of weeks and I gotta say I'm dead chuffed so a couple of credits due.
New canopies courtesy of JB Covers. No more leaks yaaaay!!!! :D :D thanks Jim for a superb job.
New upholstery to the cockpit through Dan at C-line marine. Again a fantastic job and together with the new canopies, she just looks so fresh and new so a big thanks to Dan & Dave...brilliant service.
Marcus...SouthCoast Shine...thanks for making her sparkle again.
Now I'm gonna sit and enjoy her for a whole week whilst trying to complete this coastal theory. Bliss.

Oh and although this is a makeover thread...it would be bad form not to mention Tom (Tompa Marine) who, as ever, has kept the engines running smoothly and trouble free. Ta Thomas :D

Theory: Just remember that chart you will be using will not get you out of the Solent but you might recognise where some of it came from.

typical girl, forget the guy who does all the mucky graft in the engine bay, the drives and the beer fridge :)

Glad she back in the water for you Lisa, I had a quick look when she was on the hard and the refresh looked great as you say:cool:

What year is the boat? All upholstery on the Cranchi is as good as new and is 2003. Granted the canopy isint OEM, it's also like new but I think it's only about 4 years old, possibly less

Hi Alt she's 4 years going on 5. The upholstery was just beginning to look a little tired and because the canopy leaked very badly from the rear quarters, it was beginning to stain the fabric so, as we've decided to keep her a few more years, we wanted to give her a bit of a face lift to keep her looking as new. I have to say, the canopies and re-upholstery have been worth every penny.

Hi
I have to agree , new covers - and even new upholstery - feels like a new boat - new smell as well,as look, far cheeper than renewing. Enjoy your cosmetic spruce up :-)

Really looking forward to seeing the pictures as we are thinking about re-upholstering ours. What material did you go for?

The other thing that we are looking in to (talking about canopies) is to have some kind of blind system installed in order to get some privacy in the cockpit at night. Im thinking oceanaire (or similar) custom roller blinds screwed to the roof GRP (hidden out of the way) that can be rolled down to cover all the rear windows when required. Have you ever thought about something like this?

Not thought about blinds or similar for the cockpit tbh no. Trying to visualise how that could be done without it starting to look a bit 'fabric busy' when it's all rolled away. Also blinds wouldn't lend themselves to the obscure shaping of canopy windows?. Interesting thought tho and anything's possible I guess. Perhaps detachable, made to measure material velcroed to the canopy material?

I have a Crownline where the last owner has had canvas covers made to obscure every window in the cockpit so you can sleep in there in the summer without the sunlight disturbing you. Fastened to the cockpit with press studs. You don't really notice the studs so maybe an option.
Each piece is cut to shape too.

Thats a good idea. I am going to look in to all the options over the next week or so. Anyway, sorry for the thread drift Lisa and really pleased to hear you are happy with your upgrades :)
