thank you all for the comments and advice,
especially the advice on the competence of the engineers involved are taken serious, and under consideration for future service issues.

Tomorrow morning I will get the boat back, and when wheater allows she will be tested the same day, if not for sure the coming weekend.
When new problems appear I will post them.

thanks !

Bart no advice here I'm afraid as I'm not mechanically minded but I really feel for you especially as this time last year I went through a similar albeit terminal for the engine ordeal. My engine however was out of warranty and had to be paid for out of a fast emptying pocket

Hopefully its all sorted in double quick time and your soon on the water enjoying the boat again

Good luck fella

Martin

You are not alone having major problems with D3's. There is an occasional poster on here who has had nothing but problems with his D3 190's since new. They break down about every third trip out.

I'm sure he'll be along later to explain.

today I was out with the boat,
one engine with complete new "block"
only 0,5h on the counter !!!

Volvo engineer was with me with his Vodia computer,
everything was fine,
we cruised about 4 hours, acelerated/slowing many times,
both engines all day same temperature (within 1 degree)
both engines same max RPM
same acceleration,
trottles have the same response
no error messages,
so we can assume that both engines are fine.
but still it gives a unsecure feeling having such a "extreme makeover" on one engine!
keep fingers crossed that everything remains OK.

now it is also clear to me what happened at the service center, and now I know the two engineers that have been working on my problem.
And yes, perhaps there was a lack of experience or knowledge, but considering all what happened they gave me a very good service, and explained everything they did.
And no discussion about the waranty, nor the testing on the boat today with the computer, all foc.
