Not sure if I am meant to report this but Dick Durham has painted his Contessa 32 with regular antifouling. Noticed whilst painting my own boat.

Does this mean that his experiment with that epoxy based copper stuff has come to an end?

I will have to buy next month's magazine, or ask him to find out.

Perhaps the supplier took it back after the test?

A chap in our yard applied that cooper stuff to a boat with an iron keel and would not listen to the manufacturers advice on the correct preparation and barrier coating of said keel.

The result is that he was recently seen applying antifoul to that expensive coating!!- surely such a mistake hasn't happened here too?

Dont think so he has had it on for a few years. To me it always looks pretty mucky when it comes out - so maybe he has given up on it. Be interesting to read what he has to say when he next reports on it.
