A salute to a French magazine

I use the app and it's been pretty useful for me, being quite new to SoF, especially with all the user generated anchorage info etc.

I can only assume that it's a French app otherwise why group ESP and IT together and seperate France (didn't realise they'd actually done that at first glance).

Anyway, the list can join the Most Iconic Fairline et al lists as an agreed basis for disagreement!

:D
The list was interesting and congratulations to Team Carloforte
I found it interesting to see how French stroppy marina management showed up. Loads of places had a higher score than the winner in terms of being a nice place (Cannes, Calvi, St Tropez, Antibes, etc) but all got beaten because their "welcome" scores were so low and Carloforte's was so high. Chapeau to the marina management at CF, and this brings into focus the "hard work" that Fr capitaineries can be (though, Beaulieu sur Mer is an exception in being super nice, and I have found Calvi has got much better lately than its awful 1.67 score suggests!).
The photo of Beaulieu sur Mer is a mistake - that photo is not BSM; it's the next marina to the south, on Fourmis beach

Well, if it is (and I'm not saying the contrary!), it can only be meant to sponsor the app which was used to collect the data, I guess.
Since the marina right at the top of the ranking didn't sponsor the article one bit, it's unrealistic to suppose that any others did.
And I'm not guessing now, 'cause I can be positive about the "since" bit - straight from the horse's mouth.

Navily relies on revenue share with marinas on a booking by booking basis, and a management fee; by nature, if a marina does not subscribe to their bookings solution then it’s unlikely to get traction from a feedback point of view, much like TA.

So its suppling very unweighted data that should be taken with a pincer de sel...and of course, Navilly will insist on editorial in return for advertising, even if it is not transacted in a straight line.

We use Navilly all the time but I would be very happy to find another app, purely focussed on Peer to Peer recommendations and set up to guide to, at and from the anchorage.....I’m a little bored these days if any SD’s want a project...

LOL, see post #25!
Honestly, even now, after all the buzz, I didn't even bother checking out that Navily thing.
See, I'm not a fan of Jobs' train of thought about people not knowing what they want until you show it to them.
Wake me up when there will be an app allowing to refill the boat at the press of a button and FoC! :D
